We have streamlined our 2 day Intro Course into a 1 day, all encompassing intro course and reduced the cost to $50. We have the facility and staff to handle more new clients in our classes. So there is no long "On Ramp" course. Just one class and you join our regular CrossFit program. Even better... CrossFit Wilmington has no daily class sign ups. We offer classes almost every hour on the hour each day. Since we have the largest, most experienced training staff and facility in the area, we are not forced to place limits on class size. Our members enjoy the freedom of attending whichever class they choose and the flexibility to choose a different one each day.

3 Important Nutritional points that will help support performance

There is no short cut or an "easy" way. Consistency and discipline over a long period of time are the only ways to achieve long lasting results. "Set point theory explains that human bodyweight has, for every individual, a certain set point. That set point is usually the amount they have weighed over the last several months. Eating a diet very hypercaloric (high in calories) to that bodyweight will result in an increase in metabolism. Eating a diet very hypocaloric (low in calories) will result in a decrease in metabolism, such that, body weight maintains relative stable unless purposeful long term dieting ensues. Interestingly, even after the conclusion of a diet individuals will tend to re-norm back to their pre-diet weight over time if they don't make a conscious effort to track their eating and activity, especially if the pre-diet weight was heavier." - RP

This week marks 15.2, the second installment of this year's CrossFit Open. They will announce the workout at 8pm tonight and I can't think of a better way to get amped than joining us to mobilize! We'll spend some QT on the soft tissue around the cervical and thoracic spine (neck/upper back), shoulder rotational capacity, triceps, hamstrings, and quads/hips. See y'all tonight at 6:30. ~Jesse

Fructose can enter the cell through 2 pathways. However, high fructose, when entering the cell skips an important step in the pathway of glycolysis in the liver. Research shows that high fructose may impair insulin efficiency, increasing the synthesis of fat and triglycerides. Fructose in this pathway is converted to fructose-1-P, stimulating glucokinase, leading to the uptake of glucose into the cell and the delivery of more glucose to glycolysis, leading to the production of acetyl CoA. Acetyl CoA is the basic building block for fat synthesis. Fructose can also convert to glyceraldehyde-3-P, this is the backbone of triglyceride molecules.
